On Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains: children's summer camp, teen adventure trips, school outdoor education, family camps and reunions, team building and retreats, sailing programs, wilderness adventures.

With a spectacular location on one of the cleanest lakes in the world, top-notch, dedicated staff, and modern yet rustic facilities, Chingachgook is perfect for outdoor recreation, education, relaxation and rejuvenation.

Beautiful Location and Facilities

Off I-87 Exits 20 or 21 in Lake George, Chingachgook is an easy hour's drive north from Albany, NY.

Chingachgook sits on the quiet east shore of Lake George in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains. The 200 acres of YMCA property is surrounded by thousands of acres of forever wild state forest preserve with a trail network of over 50 miles through wetlands, along the lake shore, through woodlands, and over mountain summits.

The YMCA has recently invested over $3 million for facility improvements resulting in over 60 buildings, including a new dining hall, program lodge, hike center, water-based pavilion, and 20 cabins.

A wide variety of water-based activities takes place on Chingachgook's extensive water-based, which features two 80-foot docks and a fleet of 75 canoes, kayaks, rowboats, sailboats, sailboards, and motor boats. In the winter, the frozen lake opens a winter wonderland of fun from ice skating to ice fishing and cross-country skiing.

Other recreational facilities include tennis courts, basketball courts, climbing tower, bouldering wall, archery and rifle ranges, volleyball courts, and playing fields for softball, soccer, and other games. Outdoor facilities for winter play include a tubing hill, cross-country ski and snowshoe trails, a snowboarding hill, and a flooded ice rink.
